Rug-cutting dancers raise record-breaking $1.8 million

University of Iowa Dance Marathon, the largest student organization on campus, announced at its annual “Big Event” in February that UI students and partners had raised $1,801,032.20—$300,000 more than the previous year and the largest amount in the event’s history. Over the past 20 years, UI Dance Marathon has raised more than $14.5 million for pediatric cancer research at UI Hospitals and Clinics.
